Faulty Hip Replacement Case Settled for Over $1 Billion

A federal case involving 2,375 plaintiffs in 39 states and a New Jersey court with over 2,000 more cases against defective hip replacement devices from the Stryker Orthopaedics have been settled for over $1 billion. The settlement will apply to victims who already required surgery to remove the faulty hardware and have it replaced. While this phase of the litigation is over, there are still patients who require surgery to replace the defective devices.
